Take A Vet Fishing
TAVF's mission is simple... to get veterans out of the clinical environment for a relaxing day of fishing. Everything is provided including equipment, food and drink. Take A Vet Fishing was established in 2007. BYC proudly participates in this event annually. Members volunteer to take Vets fishing on their boats. There is a large party afterward to express our gratitude to the Vets who have sacrificed so much for all Americans.
Golf Tournament
Our annual BYC Invitational Golf Tournament raises funds to benefit Camp Rising Sun. Camp Rising Sun is a place where youngsters who are in treatment for cancer, or are in remission, can experience a week or overnight summer camp and all the fun things associated with it. We aim to provide each camper with a sense of independence, adventure, self-assurance and success.
Car and Truck Show
Branford Yacht Club hosts an annual Car and Truck Show each fall. Members of the club and community are invited to bring their cars and trucks to show. Funds raised from admission to the show benefits the Wounded Warrior Project.
Harbor Lights
Branford Yacht Club participates in the annual Harbor Lights event each holiday season. This event raises funds for the Branford Community Dining Room by selling luminaires, which are placed throughout Harbor Street and Branford Point neighborhoods, extending to Parker Memorial Park, as well as on the Club property — lining the sidewalks, bulkhead and entrance to the Club.
